How we work with Families

Parenting with Respectability

This is geared to build capacity of 57 community families to address domestic violence and its effects, advocate for children’s rights and promote family modesty. Families are engaged through 15 sessions of mentorship and they’re after a group of role model men and families are selected to sustain the program be model families.

Child protection. Safeguarding.

NHEccc works with a group of community-based child protection committees that it empowers to support in the fight angst child abuse 94 children found justice in the period of four years. this is achieved through series of advocacy drives that is under taken to preach the gospel.

Environmental protection

NHEccc has trained communities on basic measures of environmental conservation /protection and has supported 417 families with environmental protection -Environmental protection sanitization -Distribution of trees. Nutrition and food security -nutritional trainings and screening -distribution of farming inputs

Persons with Disability

NHEccc advocates for the rights of persons with disability and currently working directly with 37 children living with disability providing psych-social support to parents, physio therapy and Education and medication services and boasting Economic development for families with children with special needs children.

Our Current and Recent Projects

Girls Education Challenge Project transition (GEC-T)

New Hope Education and Child Care Centre was support by Children at risk action Network(crane) to implement the GECT-T project from 2013 to 2023 and the project worked with 717 community girls that had dropped out of school between the age of 9-17years and these were enrolled to the project through a team of social workers (mentors) that monitored and mentored community homes to enable them protect, Educate and respond to child abuses. Girls that were not found in school were enrolled to a creative learning Centre for catch up program and learning support teacher support in numerous and Literacy as families are taken through different family development initiatives that included saving through starting up of Village Saving Loans Associations (VSLA),training in child protection and safe guarding .and later support in the reintegration of children back to main stream schools through provision of education startup kits ,networking with Government and Private learning institutions

Sustainable integrated intervention for volunarable families (SIIV)

"New Hope Education Child Care Center (NHEccc) partnered with SOS Children’s Villages Uganda to implement a transformative initiative aimed at improving the lives of vulnerable families and children in Nampunge Parish, Kakiri Sub-County. This collaborative effort targets 100 at-risk households and provides critical support to 417 children who are exposed to various socio-economic challenges, including poverty, limited access to education, and inadequate healthcare services. The project’s impact is expected to foster long-lasting change by creating empowered communities where children have the opportunity to reach their full potential and families are equipped with the resources and knowledge to provide for their own livelihoods. By working together, New Hope Education Child Care Center and SOS Children’s Villages Uganda demonstrate the power of partnerships in driving sustainable development and improving the quality of life for some of the most marginalized members of society."

My Life My Responsibility (MLMR)

The project is being supported by SOS children’s Villages and implemented from 2020-2024 working with 150 vulnerable households, 633 children and 123 youths in Kakiri Subcounty Wakiso district. The project builds capacity of vulnerable families, children and youths to achieve a family development goal to enable family sustainability through supporting family and youth initiatives of ensuring Advocacy, youth empowerment, child protection and safe guarding, food security, environmental protection and economic development. Families were enrolled through a House Vulnerability Assessment tool provided by the is provided by the ministry of labor and social development and after the assessment , families are supported by develop a family development.
